Every Sunday we head to my parents for a big family dinner. There is always a feast of food and it is a nice, relaxing way to end the week. The invitation is always open to friends, so there is often guests and always chaos. My parents are both amazing cooks, so we have been spoiled with these dinners since we have been little. Last Sunday we celebrated Tyler's 3rd Birthday since my parents will be on vacation during his actual Birthday. Here are some pics from the day. I think he had a pretty awesome celebration with his Spiderman theme party.
Heidi and Tyler with his Spiderman cake. Another Pop masterpiece.
This time around, I don't have many pics documenting my big and beautiful bump. Here I am with 5 weeks to go. Yes, it is getting large.
Since we were all in green, we decided to try and get a family shot. This is the best of the bunch. Pretty good to have all 3 of us looking in 1 direction.
Our niece, Kira. She has to be one of the sweetest, most mellow babies I've met. I'm hoping Lil P is just the same as her cuz.
Roman trying to help Kira figure out how everything works.
Love this pic of Scott helping Tyler blow out his candles.
Tyler's Favorite Gift was from Betty and Bob.
Roman LOVED the chocolate cake.
Thanks Pop and Nana for making every celebration so special! Roman even left with a goody bag and Spiderman ball.

Summer Pics
I love having a toddler in the summer. Swimming, Popsicles, getting dark late, playing outside, being at the park. Here are some of my favorite pics of Roman from this last month.
Chilling at the pool.
Lounge Lizard
Loves the slide.
Roman and Jason on a ride at the Fun Fest.
One of his favorite treats.
Cooling off
He saw Marley doing this, so...
He tried drinking the water too.
Roman and Jason heading down the big slide. He loved it so much that he went twice.

My New Job
I got a new part-time job and just finished my 2nd week at work. I am so thankful for this job opportunity that came up and am even more thankful that they decided to give me the job since I am 8 months pregnant. I am working 10 hours a week as the Facilities Use Coordinator for Temple Isaiah in Lafayette.
The Temple has a beautiful social hall, along with several other meeting rooms that I'll be responsible for renting and marketing. Majority of the bookings are for their congregrations Bar/Bat Mitzvah's and weddings so I have a lot to learn about customs and traditions. Everyone that I have met is wonderful and I am just trying to get everything organized and set-up in a process that works. My Dad and Bob are both helping me out by watching Roman one day a week. This job wouldn't work for me without the 2 of them and I am forever grateful. They shower Roman with so much love and attention and I know he loves his time with his Grandpa's.
I am used to being a complete perfectionist at work, so the 1st week was hard for me since the previous person was a little disorganized and no process was set in place. But slowly I am realizing I can only do so much and to not take the job so seriously. I know eventually it will the perfect job for me and it is exactly the amount of work that I was looking for. I started this job during their peak season getting ready for High Holy Days. I love learning about all the rich traditions surrounding the Jewish religion since it is fascinating. I am hoping I can even attend a service to experience it all.

Adventures in Camping
The Bucklews invited us to Angels Camp for the weekend. We were excited for a little adventure. I had never been to Gold Country and it is beautiful. Very peaceful and surrounded by cute little small towns that look like they belong in movie sets.
We got up there Friday night and Roman was ready to explore. He is currently in the very active phase of constantly being on the go. He truly doesn't stop, so we spent a lot of time following him as he explored the grounds. We spent the 1st night in our tent and Roman passed out at 10:30.
Since he was going to bed so late, I thought this would help him sleep through the night. However at around 4am, Jason needed to blow his nose. All of a sudden Roman was awake and ready to party. We made the mistake of taking him out of his porta-crib and he then decided that he was up for the day.
We entertained him in the tent with our iPhone, books, toys and anything he wanted to play with. Luckily his binkie kept him quiet. Once the sun came up he was ready for the day to begin. I was a little worried that he was going to be in a horrible mood since he got no sleep, but he was a champ.
Saturday we spent majority of the time on the boat. My doctor told me it wasn't a good idea to go on a boat this late in pregnancy, so Knute took it easy and found a great place for us to anchor and hang out. He was such a wonderful host all weekend and the boat was a true highlight.
Ellie is such a sweet, loving girl and is so good to Roman. She just loves him and I just love her. She has such a gentle, sweet personality and so adorable.
Here are some pics of Jason and Roman in the lake. Of course my little waterbug loved it.
That night the little ones went to bed and we all hung out talking. Suddenly we had some company from this massive bug that was about 5 inches long. I'm not exaggerating! This bug was huge. Jason captured him and brought him down the road. About 5 minutes later, he made his way back to our site. Thank God for Jason since the women were not able to relax until this guy was gone.
On Sunday we headed to the cute town of Murphy's for lunch. Thank You Bucklews for a fun weekend! We had a wonderful time and can't wait to do it again next year.

Getting Ready for Our Lil P
Just recently people have started asking if I am ready for our little girl to arrive. The truth is...not really.
I have less than 7 weeks to go, but I think it is different the 2nd time around since you know the realities of what you really need (and better yet what you don't need). Jen, Paris and Heidi have given me so many clothes and I am so grateful to them.
We are pretty certain that we have a name picked out, but for right now we are calling her Lil P. I had about 10 names that I loved, but Jason was certain on one. Luckily his favorite was one of mine too, so we are 99% sure. I guess that remaining 1% will happen when we meet her.
We aren't going to decorate Lil P's room until after she arrives since it is currently Jason's office, but I have picked out majority of what will go in it. I just got her bedding and we are going with a Shabby Chic theme.
Here are some of the decorations for her room:

A Good Lesson In Life
I'm going to string these along the wall
I have been really good about not buying too much, but I just couldn't resist a few outfits that were on major discount online. Here are some of my favorites for next Spring and Summer.
Look at those little shorts!
I imagine her doing a little disco dance in these flared pants.
I want a matching one for me.
At first I didn't know what I was going to do with a little girl since I am so used to having a boy, but these clothes made me really excited. I am already thinking of ways to coordinate Roman and Lil P's outfits.
As far as me, I am doing good. There are days when I am so tired and still have feelings of nausea in the mornings, but am reminding myself to enjoy it all since this will likely be my last pregnancy. My blood pressure has stayed low this time around, which makes things much easier. I have my final visit to my cardiologist on Thursday and am now going to the OB every 2 weeks. I am hoping for 7 more weeks of feeling healthy and getting ready for what will hopefully be a quick delivery (hey...anything can beat 48 hours). I will be delivering at John Muir this time instead of UCSF, so I am happy to be local. Let the countdown begin.

6th Wedding Anniversary In Tahoe
Jason and I celebrated our 6th Wedding Anniversary in Tahoe with Roman. Although our annual Anniversary celebration was a little different with our very active 16 month old along, I wouldn't have wanted it any different. We stayed at the Squaw Village, which is such a perfect vacation spot in both the Summer and Winter. Our hotel was hosting a Yoga/Music Festival all weekend so there was lots of interesting people watching and crazy music. Most of our time was spent at the lake, at the pool, eating and enjoying the perfect weather. What more could I ask for?
Roman LOVES being in water. Our hotel had a large Spa that was kept at 85 degrees. He could have stayed in it all day long.
Jason is so good with Roman in the pool. I knew the day that I married Jay that he would be a wonderful Dad, but to now see him with Roman it blows my expectations away. Roman adores his Dad and there is nothing more I could have hoped for in life than this kind of man for my children.
We went to King's Beach on Saturday and although the lake was a little cold it didn't seem to phase the boys.
Look at my little waterbug. Even though I could tell he was getting cold since his lips were turning purple, he couldn't get enough of the water.
We took Roman out of the water for a little bit to warm him up, but he insisted on going right back in.
Loving Lake Tahoe.
We couldn't be in North Shore without a trip to Sunnyside. The restaurant is great with kids and it was the perfect way to end our trip.
We opted for a late check-out on Monday so we could go one more round in the pool. This also helped get some energy out before our drive home.
Happy Anniversary Jay! I truly think everyday how lucky I am to have YOU as my husband. We have been through so many adventures through the years and it just keeps getting better. I am grateful with how hard you work to provide for our family, that you always have enough energy after a long day of work to play with Roman and that your heart is filled with nothing but good. Cheers to 6 Years and to a special year ahead. We talked on the way home about how our next trip to Tahoe in the Winter would be with 2 little ones.
