Kelling Babies Shower

Our dearest friends, Ryan and Lauren are having twins this Fall and we couldn't be more excited for their family. From the moment they told us, we have been so thrilled for them. Nothing makes me happier than hearing the news that someone is pregnant since I know what an amazing journey they are in for. These 2 are going to be such wonderful, loving and fun parents.

Ryan and Lauren were here a few weeks ago for a couples Baby Shower. We had such a relaxing, fun weekend hanging out and celebrating the upcoming arrival of these precious and amazing little boys.

Can't wait to meet Lil C and Lil G in a few months. Uncle Ry Ry and Aunt Laurie have spoiled our kids so much and we can't wait to do the same with their little boys.

Swimming

We are loving being at the pool this summer. Roman has surprised me and has been a good listener at the pool. He LOVES swimming and the hardest part is getting him to leave. I am really trying to work on getting him safe in the water. Right now we are working on kicking, blowing bubbles and dunking.

Our bathing beauty loves the pool too.

Puffs are a Mom's Best Friend

Paisley just started eating Puff's and any parent can agree...they are the best. They help keep babies happy in their highchairs, give them something to pick up and they can eat 1000 and still not feel full. As you can see, Paisley is a big fan of her Puffs.

Prayers for Papa

As I know many friends and family follow our blog, so I ask for prayers of healing for Bob (AKA Papa). This past month he was diagnosed with cancer and began chemotherapy today. He will be doing chemo for about 3 months and the prognosis looks great for recovery. We are always reminded of how precious life really is and are thoughts, love and good wishes are with him and Betty. Of course, Bob has remained so positive throughout this journey and is a beautiful example to myself and our children of handling all of this with such grace.

A funny story...the other day Roman, Paisley and I picked up Bob from Kaiser after a biopsy. I brought him back to our house to relax and wait for Betty to get off work to pick him up. Before I know it, I look out the window and see him going down the slide after Roman. I felt horrible that Roman was making him run around after him, but I knew it was making both of them happy. This boy loves his Papa so much and they have such a special bond that nothing was going to stop them from playing, not even morphine.

Bob....we love you and wish you a quick recovery!

Summer Is Finally Here

After a very rainy, windy, cold Spring it seems like today might be the start of the warm weather. Next week looks to be mid 70s and 80s. This is very good news for Roman since he is obsessed with water. AND Good Weather mean MORE water to play in. This boy has been obsessed with water since he was a baby. Water faucets, drinking fountains, baths, sinks, toilets, hoses, pools, sprinklers and his water table provide him hours of endless entertainment. We went to Target today and I was thinking of getting him a new toy, but he really isn't that into toys. So when I found this blow-up pool, I knew that this would be the ultimate toy for him.

Paisley loved it too.

The only problem with the water obsession is that it usually ends in a temper tantrum. Yesterday we were at the pool for the first time all season and Roman had a blast swimming with Jay. After a long time of swimming followed by a 10 minute shower, I had to persuade him to get dressed since it was getting cold. (I bribed him with a fruit roll-up) Once he was all changed and eating dinner, he decided he wanted MORE POOL! It was funny at first until it turned into him trying to get into the pool with all his clothes on. We realized the only way to resolve this situation was to leave the pool. Then today it was lunch/naptime and Roman had been in the blowup pool for over an hour. I warned him that we were going to need to go inside soon and the tantrum began to brew. After about 10 minutes, I finally got him out of the pool. 2 years old + being very strong willed is equaling in some very dramatic tantrum episodes. However I remind myself not to be too hard on him since he is 2 and trying to process so much. For the most part, he is so sweet, loving and hilarious. He keeps us laughing all day with his funny personality.

Cheers to a Happy Summer!

Paisley 8 Months

I love these months! They are my some of my favorites (probably also the easiest) since Paisley can now sit, but is still not mobile. Makes life easy for a few more months. What can I say about Paze, other than she is my angel. Other than a few days of fussiness due to getting a tooth she is a dream. My heart just melts when she smiles.

Paisley loves playing with her toys. I have a pink box of toys for just her. I can now sit her in front of them and get at least 20 minutes to make dinner. It is nice that she is getting a little more independent. Every now and again, I hear a scream and run over to find her toppled over. Her favorite toys are things that make noise and anything that she can chew on. She is also showing some attachment to the iPhone. I hope we don't have another techie on our hands.

Loves the swings, especially when she gets to swing next to her brother.

Rolling everywhere. She can now tolerate being on her stomach and is so cute. She goes pretty fast once she starts rolling. One night I left the room for a minute and she was almost stuck under the couch from all her rolling. I'm not ready for crawling to begin, but think we have at least 2 more months before that happens.

Legwarmers...is there anything cuter on these chubby legs?

1st TOOTH! Bottom Right popped thru. It bugged her for a few days and she didn't want to drink her bottles, but it wasn't too bad. Hoping the others come in just as easy. AND...done with breastfeeding. She is now 100% on formula and I think it is part of the reason for her constant happiness. She broke out in another round of hives and I realized that it was time to stop. Both her and I have never been happier. I am back to drinking, eating and basically binging on dairy. I missed it so much and am much happier now. I am expecting to gain 10 pounds back pretty soon from all the food I am now eating.

Paisley...we love you more than anything. You make us smile all day long. You melt our hearts with those big, beautiful eyes. You are beginning to show more and more of your personality and we are seeing small glimmers of "rascalness" as we would call it. You don't like when we leave the room and are just starting to have a little Mommy Separation. You love your Marley dog and don't seem to mind the thousands of daily kisses (yet). You like to eat fast and are very aggressive if we take too long feeding you. Your rolls are so cuddly. Daddy likes to tickle you just to hear your adorable chuckle. You are becoming more and more independent, but we still cherish the time to hold you. You are a sweetheart and just make us so happy each and every day.
