A Day In Napa

Life had been crazy for a while and Jason and I were really feeling the urge to get away for a day. So we were lucky enough to have B&B watch the kids and head to our favorite place, Napa. We left bright and early so we could get a full day in. My Dad also loaned us his Porsche for the day, so we could ride in style. I will admit, it was really fun to have a fast car with the top down driving the Silverado Trail. THANKS POP for spoiling us!

Breakfast at Auberge is the way to start out a day right. We could never afford to stay here, but breakfast is affordable and the view is amazing. We loved being able to relax and actually catch up on some much needed conversation.

1st stop down the street was Rombauer. If you love buttery Chardonnay (like we do) this is your spot. Always a favorite on our list. We have always wondered if there is anything behind this door and were shocked to get a private tour of their cellars. The door is the opening for an underground maze of hundreds of barrels of wine. I've always thought it was a fancy cover-up for a utility closet.

Stopped at Oakville for lunch (another favorite) and a few other wineries (Frank Family, Chimney Rock and an unmemorable one).

We were excited to meet up with one of our favorite couples, Jen and Keith (who were in Napa celebrating 10 years of marriage).

I'm always reminded of how much I love Napa and what a close drive it is. It is so relaxing, fun and such a great getaway. Hoping to get back there again soon.
