Roman's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Roman...how can you be starting Kindergarten? I was so excited for you since I knew you were ready and I was hopeful that it was all going to be good. You were so excited for it to begin and had been asking me for the past 6 months when does it start. We did a countdown chain and about 2 days before I could tell you were getting a little anxious. The night before you told me, "Maybe I can miss the 1st day." I assured you that it was going to be fun and you would be making some wonderful new friends. You were so lucky to have gotten a good, experienced teacher with some of your friends in your class. I hoped and prayed that your 1st day would be full of smiles and happiness.

Ready to Go!

Mrs. Cuneo

Excited to walk to school! Love our 5 minute walk across the street. After living next to Valle Verde for the last 9 years, we finally were able to enjoy our quick commute to school. I can't tell you how much I love living walking distance to school. It is the very best!

Daddy even took the morning off to join us. This made Roman feel so special.

Valle Verde...here we come!

His Cubby

His class had a scavenger hunt and then some reading time with the parents. I chose The Kissing Hand to read. Little did I know it was all about kindergarten. Tough not to cry when reading it with my big boy.

Mrs. Cuneo greeting the class. Such a cute group of kids.

The teacher called each student and then the parents left. Roman looked at us and smiled. It is all I could have hoped for. My little guy was happy! Nothing made me more full of joy. Looking back on the journey we have been thru all came together at this moment. My once timid and anxious little boy that had such a hard time with any transition had become mature and full of confidence. It is all you can hope for as a parent. To see him happy was all that I needed. I wasn't sad to leave him, but so proud to see him thriving.

At pick-up he was happy and full of smiles. We are so proud of you Roman and can't wait to experience this new journey. We love you our big boy.

Our end of summer trip

One last escape to Lake Tahoe the week before school started was the perfect way to end our summer. We stayed at Squaw Creek which was relaxing and fun. We are always reminded how lucky we are to live so close to such beauty.

Love Squaw Creek! Waterslides, restaurants, poolside cocktails and breathtaking scenery.
What more could you ask for on vacation?

The kids must have gone down this waterslide 100 times. Jay and I went down a few times too.

So proud of Paisley this summer. She became a little fish and became so confident in swimming.

Cheers! Loved being able to get some good dinners.

The lake

This boy loved playing with the rocks, sand and floating around.

Paisley and I went kayaking

Jay and Roman went paddle boarding

Our hotel even had smores. Doesn't get much better than that.

We realized this is the right way to end each summer. Loved being able to spend quality time with my little family and just be together before school and schedules begun.
